NATICK — When someone is in distress in the water, every second matters when it comes to trying to save their lives. But thanks to a donation by an anonymous local business, the town has two so-called Manny’s Boxes that are filled with life-saving tools to be placed near swimming areas, police spokeswoman Lt. Cara Rossi said. The group does not sell Manny’s Boxes; instead, it asks for donations. Patrick Irr used $800 of it to obtain two of the boxes, Rossi said. “It’s a good way to make sure that Officer Manny’s death was not in vain.”Norman Miller can be reached at 508-626-3823 or nmiller@wickedlocal.com.
