Manly Sea Eagles great Steve Menzies says it is essential for the NRL to take more games to Christchurch and other New Zealand rugby league centres to connect with young fans. Now a Sea Eagles ambassador, the former New South Wales and Australia second rower played almost 350 games for Manly from 1993 to 2008. Menzies played at Manly for 15 years before spending four seasons in the European Super League. While in Christchurch, Menzies popped into Crusaders training and was presented with a Crusaders Super Rugby jersey by head coach Scott Robertson.
