There are a couple of different scenarios surrounding Israel Adesanya's next fight but either way, it appears certain there will be a title involved. "I think that (interim title fight) is more likely but I don't like the interim thing because they throw that everywhere," Adesanya told Stuff. But with Silva coming off a two-year layoff and ranked nine places below him, his team made sure to negotiate a title shot into the mix. But definitely we were the one's who got that offer first, that it was the number one contender fight. Adesanya's win over Silva was his fifth since making his UFC debut last February, extending his overall unbeaten record to 16-0.
