Manitoba's sunny outlook stands out in national poll

Manitoba outshines the rest of Canada when it comes to our outlook on the future, according to a new national poll by the Angus Reid Institute and CBC. About three in five Manitobans, 62 per cent, are optimistic about the province's future while 73 per cent are optimistic about Canada's future, according to the poll titled What makes us Canadian? Jobs and the province's economic future are among the areas Manitobans feel positive about, said Holliday. "Manitoba is … always a place that is inclined to zig when other provinces, especially Saskatchewan, will zag," he said. "Like most Canadians, Manitobans think crime is on the rise, when — in fact — crime rates have been falling," Holliday said in an email.
