Tuggs ordered to pay $150,000 in employer health taxes, records show

For the employer health taxes, a provincial finance ministry spokesman on Monday cited “taxpayer confidentiality” while refusing to say if Tuggs still owes the money that triggered the writ. Amid ongoing audits, Foulidis hired a forensic accountant and, in the divorce papers, denies he owes CRA any back taxes. The Ontario government got a writ issued against Tuggs Inc., holder of a sole-sourced city restaurant lease at Woodbine Beach, for $150,042.08 in unpaid employer health taxes, provincial records show. In letters to city council, members of several groups accuse the company of being heavy-handed in exercising that control. City council voted in 2007, despite a city staff recommendation to issue a tender, to give Tuggs a 20-year extension.
