Sub-Inspector (SI) Sekandar Hossain and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mazharul Islam were arrested early on Tuesday, confirmed Saturia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC Investigation) Abul Kalam Azad to the Dhaka Tribune. On Sunday afternoon, the rape victim submitted a written complaint to the Manikganj superintendent of police, which led to the withdrawal of the two officers and the formation of a committee to investigate the matter. The victim filed a case against the two officers with Saturia police station that night. Sub-Inspector Sekandar Hossain borrowed Tk1 lakh from a woman in 2014 to buy some property, promising to return it with interest.
