United went on to sign Rasmus Hojlund and Kane moved to Bayern Munich. It's hard to ignore how different things might have been had they secured a world-class striker rather than someone who could become one. As long as Ten Hag is in charge, there will be pressure to make Hojlund work. He was arguably the most eligible option alongside Kane last summer, but opted to stay in Naples after their historic Serie A win. United need a world-class striker and they need to hope he's already at the club.
