Police have tonight arrested a 25 year-old man in relation to two firearm-related incidents in the Timaru region on Sunday. A 26-year-old man from Oamaru was shot in the leg and less than two hours later a shot was fired at a house while two people were inside it. Fairfax reported a man and a child were in the house but were unharmed. Canterbury police said they arrested a man about 9.45pm this evening at a residential address in Orari, near Winchester in Canterbury. He is likely to face a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and will appear in the Timaru District Court tomorrow.
