A man has allegedly been assaulted at Paremoremo prison on Auckland's North Shore (file photo). A man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital following an alleged attack at Paremoremo prison on Monday afternoon. The area in which the assault took place had been secured as a crime scene and Police had been informed, Auckland prison director Andy Langley said. Paremoremo, on Auckland's North Shore, contains New Zealand's only maximum-security prison unit. Corrections said the man was not the 28-year-old accused of the Christchurch mosque shootings, who was being held in isolation.
