A 35-year-old man was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for his role in a September 2017 crash that killed a mother and daughter. The victims did not have enough time to respond to the oncoming vehicle and died a "violent death," Laliberté said. Hazel Booth, whose mother and sister died in the 2017 crash, says there's some comfort in knowing what the sentence will be. They hoped the consequences of the 2017 crash would make people realize how serious dangerous driving can be. Defence lawyer Ashish Duvadie says his client Sumit Darji felt remorse after the fatal crash.
