Brian Davies was last seen alive on Wednesday at 11.45am in Matua. An 85-year-old man reported missing in the Bay of Plenty has been found dead. Residents on the rural outskirts of Tauranga had on Thursday been asked to check properties and sheds for missing man Brian Davies. By Thursday night, police believed he might be in the Whakamarama Road area, and asked people there to check their properties and sheds. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, police said in a statement on Friday.
