The accident happened at about 5.40am at a U-turn spot on Ram Indra Road in Bang Khen district near the mouth of Soi Ram Indra 14. Police said Rachan Na-Phatthalung, 53, died behind the wheel and Jirasuda Na-Phatthalun, 44, was severely injured. Rachan’s Toyota Vios was crashed into by a Toyota Commuter driven by Chai Premsukjai, 32, causing the car to hit the rear of the garbage truck driven by Kasem Tongsanthia, 43. Kasem said his truck was waiting to make a U-turn when the accident occurred. Luckily, there were no workers hanging off the back of garbage truck at the time of the accident, he added.
