KOTA KINABALU: A 34-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 months' jail by the Magistrate's Court here for assaulting his wife. Jerry Boris pleaded guilty to voluntarily causing hurt to his estranged 34-year-old wife at a house Kg Mininitod, Penampang at about 11.30am on Jan 30. The incident was recorded by an unknown neighbour and the footage was shared on social media, Insp Basiri told the court. Prior to sentencing, Boris, who was not represented, apologised for his actions against his wife and asked for a lenient sentence. In the video, a man could be heard quarrelling with a woman while beating and kicking her, pulling her hair and slamming her head on the floor.
