SIBU: A middle-age man has been detained for being in possession of 400 litres of diesel worth RM70,872 without a valid reason. Sarawak Marine police chief, Asst Comm Shamsol Kassim said the suspect had contravened the Supply Control Act 1961. He said at about 8.45am on Oct 18, seven officers from the department stopped a four-wheel drive on Jalan Helang. "The vehicle was found laden with 20 jerrycans containing 400 litres of diesel," he said. Shamsol said the suspect failed to furnish proof that he was authorised to carry such a large volume of diesel.
