Faridpur Woman and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Pradeep Kumar Roy handed down the verdict on Tuesday. The convict, Ripon Molla of Boalmari upazila of the district has also been fined Tk100,000 in addition to his life sentence. The court also acquitted eight people—Syed Matobbar, Fazar Kha, Bakkar Molla, Rafique Molla, Miku MNatubbar, Ranju Sardar, Bipul Sardar and Obaidur Molla—as allegations brought against them could not be proved. Her father lodged a complaint with Boalmari Police Station in this regard the following day and police later iled a case over the crime.
