A man has been rescued in a two-car crash near Christchurch Airport.Police, fire and ambulance were called to the corner of Pound and Mcleans Island roads about 5.40pm on Monday.The site is at the back of the airport.Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Brent Dunn said fire crews needed to free a man trapped in one of the cars.He was taken by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries, St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said.A Christchurch Transport Operations Centre statement said the crash was blocking the intersection.Motorists are advised to expect delays and to follow directions of emergency services on site.Earlier this year, a man was freed from a crash between two trucks at the same intersection
