Man facing conviction following 'fleeting touch' of friend's bottom

Zach Andrew Charles Bellringer touched his friend's bottom while drinking alcohol at New Plymouth bar El Fuego at Our Place in October 2018 (File Pic). "A fleeting touch" of a woman's bottom in a New Plymouth bar has landed a man in court. Defence lawyer Nathan Bourke asked, however, that the conviction not be entered at this stage, as he would be applying for a discharge without conviction on Bellringer's behalf. Bourke described the incident as a "fleeting touch" and said Bellringer has no history of sexual offending. Judge Denys Barry remanded Bellringer on bail until March 23 when an application for his discharge without conviction will be heard.
