The man, a civil servant from Kisii County, reportedly checked into the room at around 6pm on Saturday and was later joined by the woman. Narok North Sub-county Police Commander Fredrick Shiundu said he travelled from Kisii, where he worked as a micro and small enterprise authority officer (MSEA). He said her report indicated that the man died in the room after developing the breathing complications and sweating profusely. Residents milled around Oloropil Towers opposite the Narok town mosque early Sunday as police collected the body and took the woman away for questioning.
