GEORGE TOWN: An unemployed 31-year-old man pleaded not guilty to a charge of voluntarily causing harm to a food delivery man. Muhammad Aslam Hashim was charged with voluntarily causing harm by hitting food delivery rider Koay Eng Tat, 40, on the head with a hammer at Block P Desa Permai Indah along Jalan Helang in Sungai Dua here on April 20 at 4pm. The charge was read under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing harm with an instrument, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years or a fine or whipping or any two of the punishments. She then set May 25 for case mention pending an appointment of counsel for Muhammad Aslam and documents. He said preliminary investigation found that an argument broke out between the rider and the 31-year-old man, regarding the delivery of food.
