EDMONTON–A man who allegedly drove through a red light and hit a pedestrian during a police chase in downtown Edmonton is facing numerous charges. Police have charged a 31-year-old man with numerous offences after a downtown police chase. When the officers tried to talk to the driver, however, they say he jumped back into the SUV and sped off. The woman was treated by paramedics on scene and hospitalized with “multiple serious injuries,” according to the release. Tyler James Bjornstad, 31, has been charged with disqualified driving, possession of stolen property under $5,000, breach of recognizance, flight from peace officer (motor vehicle) causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and failure to stop at accident causing bodily harm.
