A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting at a group of people during a dispute outside Habibi Lounge, a Mississauga-area hookah bar, on Feb. 7. Peel Regional Police allege Mahad Abdi fired one shot from an unknown firearm into the group of people. Another, separate shot fired in the same dispute killed 17-year-old Sharmarke Farah. Friends and teammates described him as a “bright light” in social media posts following the shooting. He was found by Peel Regional Paramedic Services in Habibi Lounge’s parking lot, at the corner of Derry Rd.
