John Oliver Jamieson, of Timaru, elected trial by jury when he pleaded not guilty to the charges before Judge Joanna Maze in the Timaru District Court on Tuesday. Jamieson, appearing via audiovisual link from Christchurch Prison, was remanded in custody until July 5 for a case review hearing. Charges read out by Judge Maze included intentional damage, demanding with a threat, assault on police, breaching conditions of parole, failing to stop or ascertain injury, resisting police, theft of petrol, refusing an impairment test and reckless driving.
