A man has been charged with assaulting a peace officer after she tried to issue him a parking ticket. An enforcement officer put a ticket under the windshield of a car parked along a rush-hour route around 6 p.m. on September 9, in the vicinity of Yonge St. and Finch Ave. But after the officer returned to her car, a man appeared and threw the ticket in her enforcement vehicle window. When she handed it back, he is alleged to have pushed her. Police said the officer then returned to her car and locked it, and that the man tried to open the door but then fled the scene.
