At least nine people were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital with injuries sustained in the clash on Wednesday afternoon. Sub-Inspector Kamal Hossain said the clash erupted between supporters of Chhatra League leaders 'Sabuj' and 'Dolon'. Several students, who witnessed the clash, told bdnews24.com that Tinu's followers took position on the campus in the morning. A person, wearing a yellow t-shirt, was seen wielding a firearm on the street in front of the college at one stage of the clash. A top leader of BCL in the port city said the gun-toting man is a residence of Chandanpur and a follower of Juba League leader Tinu.
