Zdenek Makar was on his way home from work when he got into an argument with a gang of youthsA businessman was beaten to death with a bicycle lock chain after arguing with a gang of youths at a fast food outlet on his way home from work. After leaving the shop to go home, Zdenek Makar was chased by the gang, who used a bicycle lock chain to hit him and kicked him as he lay on the ground. Mr Makar, an events manager, originally from the Czech Republic, was found in a pool of blood on a footbridge near All Saints DLR station in Poplar, east London.
