A 23-year-old man has been arrested after a police officer was shot. A police spokeswoman said the police officer was shot in the arm and shoulder during a routine traffic stop just before midnight on Friday in Bankwood Rd, Hamilton. “The driver then fled the scene in his car and the man who had shot the officer stole the police car.”Mark Taylor/Stuff Police officers remain on Bankwood Rd after the shooting.
