Man allegedly wielded shotgun in Dunedin home invasion


A Dunedin man appeared in court this morning after he allegedly burgled a home armed with a shotgun last night. Vincent Praire Mahara, a 29-year-old freezer worker, was charged with aggravated burglary before the Dunedin District Court this morning. Police say he threatened the occupants but no-one was harmed. He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody by consent until July 25. Mahara did not apply for name suppression.
