Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has given a clear indication that the Red Devils are sticking with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and seeing through the club’s current long-term re-build plan. His comments come as Mauricio Pochettino is only months away from being able to take another job without including a hefty penalty clause from his former club Tottenham. Solskjaer has been in charge of United for just over a year, after he replaced Jose Mourinho in December 2018. Speaking at a fans’ forum, Woodward defended the club’s current transfer policy, while also trying to ease supporters’ concerns by suggesting they team are preparing for an “important” summer with Solskjaer playing a part in overseeing new signings.
