Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta faces transfer problem over future of £160,000-a-week flop

Arsenal winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan is currently set to return to the north London club in the summer as the Gunners £20million asking price is too high for AS Roma . The 31-year-old attacking midfielder joined Arsenal in a swap deal in 2018 that saw Alexis Sanchez go in the other direction and join Manchester United. And while Arsenal got Sanchez’s wages off their books they brought in Mkhitaryan on a £160,000-a-week contract which lasts until 2021. The Armenia international struggled during his time at Old Trafford and things didn’t improve after making the switch to the Emirates. During his time at Arsenal he scored nine goals and provided 13 assists in 59 appearances in all competitions for the club.
