The Red Devils want a new striker, and have been linked with both Harry Kane and Erling Haaland. United's cross-town neighbours, Premier League champions City, are said to be the frontrunners for Kane, despite facing the prospect of paying upwards of £130million. Tottenham are reportedly ready to ask for him in any potential swap deal with Kane, but United should be taking a look themselves. Back in 2009, United lost start striker Carlos Tevez to City in a clear indication that a power shift in Manchester was on the way. United missed out on the title this season in part due to their lack of quality squad depth.
