Suspecting her fidelity, a 26-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife and then doused himself with petrol and set himself ablaze, in Yemmiganur in Kurnool district on Sunday. According to the Yemmiganur police, the has sustained 50% burns and has been shifted to Government General Hospital for treatment. The suspect has been identified as Shaik Mahboob Basha and the deceased as Razia (20). Ms. Razia apparently was pregnant a month into the marriage, which made Basha suspect her. A week ago, Basha had also attempted suicide by swallowing sleeping pills and was treated in Kurnool GGH.
