KUALA LUMPUR (April 11): Malaysia's industrial production index (IPI) grew 4.7% year-on-year (y-o-y) in February on the back of positive expansion across all indices, said the Department of Statistics today. All three sub-sectors show bigger y-o-y growth in February compared to the month before, it added. On the other hand, production within the electricity sector grew y-o-y by 1.5%, following a 1.1% increase in January. Malaysia's mining sector, however, posted smaller growth of 0.4%, compared to 1.1% in January. However, the Natural Gas index posted a better growth of 7%," it said.
