Malaysian man sealed deal to help church leader escape Singapore at Marine Drive car park - ASEAN/East Asia


SINGAPORE: It was allegedly at a carpark near East Coast Park here that the deal to help former City Harvest Church leader Chew Eng Han leave Singapore illegally was believed to have been sealed. Malaysian Khoo Kea Leng, 45, who is accused of abetting the escape bid, was taken by police to the car park at Block 75, Marine Drive on Tuesday morning (Feb 27). Khoo, is suspected of having discussed escape plans with Chew at this car park. It was also here that Khoo is believed to have accepted Chew's money to plan the former church fund manager's alleged illegal escape through Pulau Ubin. Chew was nabbed on a motorised sampan during his attempt to escape on Feb 21.
