MALAYSIAN citizen Michael anak Garing is scheduled to be hanged in Changi Prison, Singapore, this Friday. Michael, who is Sarawakian, was convicted of murder in 2015 by the Republic’s High Court; the conviction was affirmed by the Court of Appeal in 2017. Michael’s family, who is from Kapit in Sarawak, have only been given eight days notice of the imminent execution. They have been asked by letter to make the “necessary funeral arrangements”.
