Malala asks for extra security over 'assassination threats'


Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala has asked for enhanced security over alleged assassination threats. In a letter to Senate Clerk Jeremiah Nyegenye on Thursday, Malala said he has evidence of credible threats to harm, injure, eliminate or assassinate him. This comes barely 10 days after Malala and two other senators were arrested hours before casting their vote on the debate county revenue sharing formula. It emerged that Malala was not booked in the Occurrence Book at the station by the officers who drove him in. Police indicated that Malala had been arrested for violating of social distancing requirements while distributing sanitisers in Mumias over the weekend.
