However, India should be above world standards and just as there were revenue targets and profitability targets, 20% presence should be targeted and it is doable, Ms. Brahmani said. The presence of women would have a positive impact in improving culture and dynamics in board rooms, more decision power and clarity of vision. However, there was a supply-demand gap and women also need to equip themselves to the task particularly improving science skills, she said. She lauded IoD’s catalytic role in training directors and enhancing social change and in networking for women directors.
