Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu is leading a delegation of top government officials to Ethiopia for the 66th session of the World Health Organisation Regional Committee for Africa. The delegation left the country on Wednesday for the five-day meeting which brings together health ministers 47 African countries. Top on the agenda of the regional committee will be implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region, attainment of universal health coverage and the emerging health trends. The committee will also discuss the new transformation agenda to create a regional office responsive to the needs of the member states. Furthermore, the health experts will discuss strategies to address oral diseases as part of the non-communicable diseases program.
