Maguindanao woman puts up ‘honesty bench’ for relief goods – The Manila Times

COTABATO CITY: A resident of Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao is advocating for honesty in the time of the coronavirus crisis. The woman, who identified herself as Jowaira Hijab and is a resident of Barangay Macaguiling, made use of a bench by the roadside as a relief pack station, where anyone can take one pack of relief goods for the day. On her Facebook page, Jowaira Hijab, which is actually the name of her boutique, shared that “anyone who has nothing to cook for today may pick one pack from the relief goods.”“One pack only per family so that we can help many families,” she reiterated on a note by the bench in front of the AQ Mart. She said if there are honesty stores in some areas where no attendants attend to buyers, Sultan Kudarat has an “honesty relief station.”The food packs are placed on the bench in front, whose owner, a Muslim faithful, relies on the honesty of all who take the food packs. “Sana all,” he added, referring to the now popular expression, which means wishing more people could do the same act of kindness.
