Private schools push for online classes – The Manila Times

A federation of private schools is pushing for online education for school year 2020-2021 to counteract the impact of the prolonged suspension of classes brought about by measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). “The situation next school year is tablet education,” Federation of Associations of Private Schools Administrators (Fapsa) President Eleazardo Kasilag said in a text message to The Manila Times. Physical distancing is a bigger problem for public schools given the limited number of classroom and their cramped size, he said. Kasilag said private schools were also affected by the lockdown and thus should not be left out in any amelioration program. “Most members of Fapsa belong to small- and medium-sized schools and these administrators are the ones most hurting,” he added.
