A group of magicians from around the country hope they taught their audience a few new tricks in Timaru. More than 150 people attended a special magic show at the Savage Club in Timaru on Saturday, with magicians coming from Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin participating in workshops before performing for the public. South Canterbury Magicians Society secretary Russell Hendry said he was pleased with the range of tricks on display. “We’re a small group, and I’m the only one who would be consistently performing, so it was great to meet up with magicians around the country. “We want to pass on the art of magic to our younger generation.
