Madurai: A hospital in Madurai has taken steps to enable attendants of Muslim patients as well as its medical fraternity who are on night duty to observe their Ramazan fast on time with special meals during the month of Eid.Though the Quran exempts sick persons from undertaking the fast, many a time patients' attendants find it difficult to observe the fast, a problem that the Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre in Madurai is helping them to overcome by having special Ramazan meals at specific times.According to senior manager of catering at the MMHRC, Vivekanandhan, they have been having these special meals to break the fast for some years now. "I am able to fulfill my needs like I do at home and the food is also good," he said.Rihana, an attendant, says she had tried buying food the previous day, but it was getting spoilt.
