KUALA LUMPUR: Justice for workers and urgent attention to the disputes settlement mechanism are among the issues which the Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) hopes the new Human Resources Minister will prioritise. MTUC Secretary-General J Solomon said the it is looking forward to working with Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran to address the various critical issues that MTUC had already raised to the past and present Pakatan Harapan government. "MTUC has always been tolerant and is willing to work with the government but the previous minister had vehemently disappointed MTUC and failed the workers. “We also hope the minister will immediately stop the secretary-general and top management of the Human Resources Ministry from interfering in the administration of the MTUC and undermining its constitution and rules, causing unnecessary chaos." MTUC also called for the ministry to look into funds to facilitate upskilling and reskilling workers in preparation for the future of work in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
