MRT Corp signs corruption-free pledge, aims to be responsible and accountable

KUALA LUMPUR: Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) looks to be the first railway organisation in Malaysia to sign the Corruption-Free Pledge with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). “MRT Corp is not a public-listed company but we have never failed to produce our annual report, detailing on the progress of the project and its financial situation,” Shahril said. He added the pledge was strongly supported by MRT Corp board members, the management team and the staff, which proved that the company is serious in its anti-corruption fight and this pledge was not just taken for publicity purposes. “The pledge made earlier this month reinforces the corruption-free stand which involved around 500 MRT Corp staff. MRT Corp staff also handed over 537 application forms to Sahabat Gerakan Revolusi Anti Rasuah (Gerah).
