In the letter seen by the Star and signed by secretary general Nzai Ruwa, the MRC requested an appointment with regional coordinator Nelson Marwa. "We request to meet you and county commissioners from Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi,Tana River, Lamu and Taita Taveta counties," reads the letter. In a separate letter to Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet, MRC denied rumours they are planning to disrupt the election. In August last year, MRC spokesman Lewa said the group was strategising new ways of registering many people to advocate their rights. The MRC spokesman did not disclose areas where the registration will take place due to security concerns.
