MANILA, Philippines — Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC), the tollway arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), is planning to raise up to P20 billion to fund the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAx) project. When completed, the 45-kilometers (km), four-lane expressway will link the Manila Cavite Toll Expressway (Cavitex) and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). The Cavite segment will cover 27-km, while the Laguna segment will span 18-km. Consunji Inc. for the construction of the Laguna segment, while it entered into a contract with Leighton Contractors for the Cavite segment. Franco said MPTC is also planning to raise funds for other projects such as the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) – SLEX connector road and R-10, but have yet to decide on the amount.
