MP likens body-search at airport as unnecessary 'groping'

KUALA LUMPUR: Airport scanning machines should be upgraded to better detect passengers who breach security regulations, said member of parliament Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin. Bung Mokhtar (BN-Kinabatangan) said airport security personnel would immediately conduct a body-search on passengers whenever the alarm from metal detector went off. Please stop groping,” he said when debating Budget 2018 in the Dewan Rakyat today. Bung Mokhtar said a more efficient security system would remove the need for security personnel from “groping” passengers suspected of security violations. He said to be a developed nation, the mindset on this issue should be changed to keep up with the times.
