Kiambu County has petitioned the controller of budget Agnes Odhiambo after expenditure of its bursary funds was disallowed. He further said that Odhiambo ignored the independence of the Kiambu county government by giving unilateral directions without consultations. He wrote to the budget chief saying orphaned and vulnerable children have been denied right to education following the situation. He thusNjoroge wants Odhiambo to rescind the directive and allow the disbursement of the remaining funds. Barely two weeks ago, Karuri Ward MCA Martin Njoroge said more than 12,000 disadvantaged children may be sent home for fees due to huge arrears.
