Cameron confirmed on Monday that the result of the EU referendum cannot be reversed as he set up a Whitehall unit to put Brexit into effect. Cameron told the Commons: "Clearly this will be most complex and most important task that the British civil service has undertaken in decades. Cameron’s spokesman said he had told the Cabinet that the referendum verdict had been decisive. "It was not the result I wanted – nor the outcome that I believed is best for the country I love. Pro-Remain campaigners have suggested a second referendum to allow the public to think again, even though Leave won by four percentage points.
