GEORGE TOWN: The proposal that newly-appointed Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng’s corruption charges be dropped strongly reeks of political interference, MCA said today. “Both institutions, the Attorney-General (AG) and the judiciary, must be allowed to discharge their duties without any form of interference. “If politicians start giving these institutions instructions, then we are no different from what we were before, when we alleged political interference,” he said today. “However, if the pardon was granted following proof of political victimisation and interference by the judiciary, then there is an issue here. “It is the rakyat’s will that the PH government uphold the rule of law instead of practicing the rule by law,” he stressed.
