The plane bearing registration number 9M-MWC with the Jalur Gemilang decal on its body made its first appearance at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) hangar, witnessed by Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Masidi and MASwings chief executive officer Aminuddin Zakaria. Aminuddin said being one of the subsidiaries of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the regional carrier was very proud and committed to be part of the Negaraku initiative. “Unity and love for the country lies at the very heart of MASwings, a company very much part of the fabric and community of Sabah, Sarawak and F.T Labuan. Meanwhile Masidi, speaking to reporters later, noted that moving forward, MASwings should consider adding more aircraft or renew its current fleet of 10 ATRs to improve its services. Aminuddin had said earlier this year that there were no plans to add on more aircraft as they focus on their refurbishment programme in 2017.
